Dr. Orlando Hung

Dr. Orlando Hung is a Professor in the Departments of Anesthesia, Pain Management and Perioperative Medicine; Surgery and Pharmacology at Dalhousie University in Halifax and is the Medical Director of Research in the Department of Anesthesia, Pain
Management and Perioperative Medicine.  His areas of research interest include airway management, clinical pharmacology and drug delivery systems as well as development of medical devices. During the last 26 years, he has received over $18 million of
research funding support from many organizations and institutions. Dr. Hung is recognized for excellence in his research work. He received the Discovery Award of Professional of Distinction from the Discovery Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2015 and the Research Recognition Award presented by the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society (CAS) in 2014. In collaboration with colleagues from Faculty of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, Departments of Anesthesia, Pharmacology, and Biomedical
Engineering, he co-founded a number of startup companies.  These include Delex Therapeutics Inc., FIVAMed, Inc., Flowchek Medical Inc., Panag Pharma Inc., and Scotia MD Engineering Inc.

Scott Spearn

A goal-driven leader with proven strengths in building new and existing businesses to achieve aggressive revenue and profit growth through the strategic application of skills in:

Chris MacLean

Chris MacLean has over 10 years’ experience in the startup world as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Executive Officer of with small to medium sized companies. Recent roles include CEO of Altheda Wellness Innovation (current), COO of Panag Pharma Inc., and COO of Lumiera Health Innovation (formerly Tetra Natural Health), responsible for corporate operations, securing funding and building important business relationships. In previous roles he helped to develop Boondoc Technologies (The Rounds) and bring the company products to market. He was an integral part of the closing of Boondoc’s Seed
equity investment round, pitching the company to both Angel investors and Venture Capital firms. Through education and experience in new ventures, Chris has developed expertise in the areas of corporate operations, business development, scaling,
financing, and M&A.
